Bulgaria, Order for Civil Merit, 4th class, with Original Case of Issue, 1918-1943.
Brass gilt, enamels; measures 50.9 mm in width; the height of the cross is 51.8 mm (including the eyelet, without the crown); overall height to the tip of the crown's cross is 75.3 mm; weighs 29.8 g not including the ribbon. Magnificent quality. Comes in fitted case of issue wrapped in red leather, measuring approx. 6.5 x 12.5 cm, with the name of the decoration and the monogram of King Boris III impressed in gold.
The order is in very fine condition. There are surface chips to the white enamel at the bottom tip of the lower arm of the cross on both the obverse and reverse; neither of them is very detractive or noticeable because the damage mostly does not penetrate to the brass underneath. The enamel is otherwise perfect, including the fragile green and red enamel on the embellishments between the arms. The gilt finish is pristine and bright throughout.
The case is very good to excellent; shows scuffs at the bottom and only very minimal wear to the top part. The interior shows modest amount of wear and light water stains that are barely noticeable. The lock closure is intact and fully functional.
