Poster featuring first portrait of Vladimir Lenin taken
immediately after the October Revolution. Shows Lenin's
quotation "We are a party of the future and the future belongs
to young people; we are a party of innovators and young people
always follow innovators more willingly." 1986. 22" x 34 1/8".

Bust of Mikhail Kalinin, by the Lomonosovskiy Porcelain Factory in Leningrad (LFZ), circa late 1940s. Very large size, approx. 13" tall likeness of one of the original Bolshivik leaders, a rare survivor of the Stalin's purges and the nominal head of state of the Soviet Union from 1919 to 1946. Original artwork was created by the acclaimed Soviet sculptor Matvei Manizer. An extremely uncommon, high quality piece in very good condition.

Portrait of Georgiy Malenkov, black-and-white tapestry in
silk,
early 1950s-1955, made in People's Republic of China. A
portrait of the Stalin's heir apparent and Soviet premier
immediately after Stalin's death in 1953. Within two years,
Malenkov was outfoxed and edged out by Nikita Khrushchev in
the
Kremlin power struggle; two years later, was sent into a
virtual exile after an unsuccessful attempt to depose
Khrushchev. Since Malenkov was the Soviet premier for just a
short time and then not only lost all his posts, but was
eventually expelled from the Communist Party, few of his
period
portraits have survived to our days. In excellent condition.
