"Combined List of the Recipients of the St George Cross, 1914-1922" Volume IV, 4th Class, ##1 - 100 000, by S Patrikeev, C 2012, Moscow.

"Combined List of the Recipients of the St George Cross, 1914-1922" Volume IV, 4th Class, ##1 - 100 000, by S Patrikeev, C 2012, Moscow. Hard cover, massive 9" x 12 "x 2 " format; 1035 pp, Russian text. Deluxe quality paper and binding.

This book covers the St. George Cross, the most popular Russian soldier's bravery award of WW I. It allows to find the name, rank and unit of the recipient, as well as the date of the award, by the serial number of the cross. In almost all cases, a brief description of the feat is included. The book is a result of years of painstaking research by the author who is well-known as a preeminent collector of Russian awards and a co-author of several prominent reference books on the subject. Although there are some gaps, the book provides information on nearly all - at least 95% in our estimate - of St. George Crosses within serial number range covered in this volume. To assemble the list took literally a titanic effort which involved getting materials from a number of archives not only in Russia, but also in France, USA, UK and Check Republic, as well as several major museums (please remember this if you are offered a pirated electronic version of this book, essentially stolen goods from which the rightful owner of intellectual property never benefited.)

With only 316 copies in print, this book has become a bibliographic rarity and is highly sought by collectors around the world. The single copy we offer is brand new unused, with minor shelf wear to the cover and couple of minor spots to the text block. The internal pages are in mint condition.
