Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd cl, Type 2, early "Starback" variation (Krasnokamsk Mint), #65161, Feb. 1944 issue to the Chief of Artillery of a rifle regiment. During Operation Iskra ("Spark") which broke the siege of Leningrad, he reconnoitered German positions and personally commanded one of the squadrons, wiping out enemy weapon emplacements and personnel.
