Contains textual guidelines and recipes, nutritional tables and calculations, as well as 196 pages of color photo illustrations. The dishes used in the illustrations were prepared by the best chefs of the most elite Moscow restaurants, such as "Metropol," "Savoy," "Aragvi," and a few others. Textual instructions are geared for professional chefs and professional food preparation facilities. However, if any citizen of the workers' paradise could buy or had ever even seen a sturgeon, or beluga caviar, or even a rack of lamb, could try to replicate the dishes at home - in 1955 mostly on kerosene stoves in communal kitchens shared by 5-10 families.

The book is in excellent condition. The wear to the oilcloth of the cover is surprisingly light, considering the size and weight of the tome. The internal pages are intact and wear-free; both bookmark tapes are original and perfectly clean. The back cover has a couple of small white stains, not intrusive enough to try to remove them with a wet soft cloth.
