There is a stamped serial number Mc 1753 in the upper part of the reverse near the base of the pin .

In very fine condition. There is a single surface chip to the red enamel on the lowest segment of the left banner; the damage however does not penetrate to the brass and therefore not too detractive. There is also a tiny, practically unnoticeable surface flake at the right edge of the plaque with "RPR". The enamel elsewhere is perfect and retains a very attractive luster. There is attractive dark patina to the brass parts, while the original gilt finish is visible in the recessed areas of the starburst; a very good amount of the gilt is present on the reverse. The pin attachment is intact and fully functional.

The early simple catch version of this order is quite uncommon, while the serial number is an extremely rare feature. This specimen is probably among the first ever issued after the institution of the order in 1952.
