Postcard sent from Riga to Derpt, modern-day Tartu, Estonia, dated 22 October 1881.
The size is non-standard, 4 ¾" x 3 ½", with pre-printed 3-kopek postal stamp and the Russian Imperial two-headed eagle on the obverse. The cancels on the obverse are dated 23 October 1881. The Riga cancel is on the verso and only partially visible, about half of it missing outside of the postcard. The message on the verso is in German.
In very good condition. The obverse shows traces of old glue at the corners, the verso has a faint ink stain and a couple of small and faint oil stains, not obscuring the handwritten text.
