The medallion is in silver gilt and enamels; measures 47.5 mm tall (incl. eyelet), 36.9 mm wide; weighs 36.0 g without the suspension and connecting link. This sub-variation features distinctive hammer and sickle emblem: the handle of the hammer goes over the sickle (in the same manner as on Type 5 and the earlier types). The serial number is hand-engraved. This piece is from the 1959 Leningrad Mint batch with the serial numbers from 405551- 420050.

The order is in outstanding, excellent condition. The enamel is essentially perfect: it shows a magnificent luster and is free of any wear visible to the naked eye; there is only a single tiny surface flake at the upper right tip of the red star that can be found only under a 10x magnification. The fire gilt finish is completely intact, having just a touch of patina that adds character. There is an extremely attractive, even toning to all the silver parts.

Comes on an original suspension, a two-layer model in steel with an integral catch of the pin. The old, probably original ribbon is beautifully preserved and clean. The connecting link appears to be original; its ends are joined with solder in characteristic manner of the Soviet Mint.

The Order Booklet, Series E #198424, was filled-out on 9 October 1965. It shows only one decoration, the Red Banner of Labor which was bestowed on 1 October 1965. The first internal page is hand-signed by the recipient and shows the usual stamp "Valid without a photo".

The booklet is in outstanding condition matching the award. The cover has a few minor indentations that are not very noticeable, otherwise perfect; the gold lettering and national emblem are intact and bright. The binding is tight. The internal pages are pristine.
