Order of the Red Banner of Labor, Type 5, Variation 1 "short oval flat back", #213869, early 1950s issue.

Silver gilt, enamels. Measures 48.3 mm tall incl. the eyelet, 37.6 mm in width; weighs 36.9 g not including the suspension and connecting link. Features flat reverse and mint mark in straight lines. This specimen is a part of the series with serial numbers from 200,000 - 250,000 manufactured in 1951 at the Leningrad Mint.

In outstanding, excellent condition. The enamel is essentially perfect and shows a beautiful luster throughout; there is no wear visible to the unaided eye and only a few tiny contact marks on the red star that can be just barely found under a 10x magnification. The details are pristine; the gold plating is extremely well-preserved and bright.

Comes on an original suspension device, a two-layer model in steel. The ribbon is new (from old unused Soviet stock.) The silver connecting link appears to be original, and its ends are still joined with solder. This Stalin-era piece is in superb condition through-and-through, practically impossible to upgrade.
