Fatherland Liberation War Commemoration Medal, circa 1954-1955.

The medallion is in silver-plated brass; measures 41.2 mm tall (incl. eyelet), 36.3 mm wide; weighs 17.9 g not including the suspension and connecting link.

In excellent condition. The raised details and silver finish are perfect. There are only a few tiny dings to the raised edge, no significant wear of any kind. Comes on original suspension in steel with an old, obviously original ribbon which shows wear and minor amount of soiling but is overall sound, well-preserved and presentable.

Established in 1953, the medal was awarded during 1954-55. It was issued to partisans, Chinese People's Army "volunteers" who had fought in the Korean War, North Korean combatants who had been honorably discharged from the military prior to the end of the war, and non-combatants who had contributed to the war effort. In general, the medal is fairly common, but it is very hard to find in a condition as nice as the example offered here.
