In excellent condition. Both sides are extremely well-preserved, completely free of any wear visible to the naked eye and have just a few microscopic contact marks that can be found only under a 10x magnification. The details of Stalin's bas-relief and lettering are perfect and exceptionally crisp. There is a light tarnish that adds interest and is not detractive, while the original "gilt" mint luster is present and bright in recessed areas throughout, especially on the reverse.

Comes on original suspension device, a single-layer model in brass. The perfectly preserved ribbon is relatively recent but shows a minimal amount of use. To summarize, a very attractive example of the Victory over Japan Medal.
