In brass; measures 37.6 mm in height incl. eyelet, 32.2 mm in width; weighs 17.3 g not including the suspension and connecting link. Features a separate eyelet soldered to the medallion.

In outstanding, excellent condition. Both sides are free of wear visible to the naked eye and have only a few microscopic contact marks that can be found just barely under a 10x magnification. The raised details of the bas-relief and lettering are perfect and exceptionally crisp. The original "gilt" mint luster is nicely preserved and bright throughout; there is no significant tarnish or blemishes.

The medal comes on an original suspension, a late-1940s two-layer model in steel and brass with an integral catch of the pin. The nicely preserved, clean ribbon is old, likely of the period. The connecting link appears to be of the period as well. Overall, a superb example of the Variation 1 Victory Medal, practically impossible to upgrade.
