Special-issue Government Postcard Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the October Revolution, 1977.
The size is continental standard 6" x 4", postally unused, published by the Ministry of Communications of the USSR, circulation unknown. The pre-printed postal stamp features the cruiser Avrora, one of the "central" icons in the Soviet pantheon. According to the Bolshevik "gospel", a shot from the cruiser's gun, aimed at the Winter Palace, signaled the beginning of the armed revolt in Petrograd, which was then named the Great October Socialist Revolution.
In excellent condition, just a hint of storage wear.
