Order of the Red Banner of Labor, Type 5, Variation 2, "flat back with curved mint mark", #303873, circa mid-1950s issue.

Silver gilt, enamels; measures 47.4 mm in height (incl. eyelet), 37.4 mm in width; weighs 35.3 g not including the suspension and connecting link. Based on available mint records, this specimen was manufactured in 1954 at the Leningrad Mint.

In outstanding, excellent condition. The enamel is essentially flawless: it shows beautiful luster and has no wear with the exception of a couple of microscopic contact marks on the star and banner that are not easy to find even under a 10x magnification. The details of the artwork including the hammer & sickle emblem are perfect and crisp; the gilt finish is pristine and exceptionally bright.

Comes on original suspension, a two-layer model in steel with an integral catch of the pin. The ribbon is new (of old Soviet stock). The connecting link appears to be original; its ends are still joined with solder in a seamless manner characteristic of the Soviet mint manufacture.

To summarize, a superb example, practically impossible to upgrade condition-wise.
