Lot of Two Bone China Cup-& Saucer Coffee Pairs (4 pieces), by LFZ (ЛФЗ), marked for export, 1972 - 1986.
The lot includes two cups and two saucers, sparingly and elegantly painted. The cups stand 3" tall, measuring 2 ¾" wide at the lip and 1 ½" across at the foot. The saucers are 4 ¾" across. Each item is maker marked on the bottom (fig. # 493 in Volume One of Marks on Soviet Porcelain, Faience, and Majolica, 1917-1991 by Nasonova et al). The red "MADE IN USSR" denotes that this set met the highest LFZ quality control requirements, the usual Soviet-era practice for items designated for export.
In excellent, outstanding condition. Only some of the narrow gold bands rimming the lip of the cups and saucers show the slightest signs of wear. Otherwise, there is no wear or damage visible to the naked eye.
Please note that the teaspoon in our photo is for size reference.
