Order of the Red Banner of Labor, Type 6, Variation 2, #498015, circa 1966-67 issue.
Silver gilt, enamels; measures 47.6 mm tall (incl. the eyelet), 36.9 mm wide; weighs 36.1 g not including the suspension and connecting link. Riveted three-piece construction; the serial number is engraved with a rotating tool. Sub-variation featuring very distinctive conical rivets. This piece is from the first Leningrad Jewelry Factory (ЛЮФ) series with the serial number range from 476000 - 520999 manufactured in 1966.
In very fine to excellent condition. The enamel is practically perfect: there is only a single minuscule flake at the upper edge of the banner, nearly unnoticeable to the naked eye, and a couple of microscopic contact marks that are completely invisible without magnification. Raised details including the hammer and sickle emblem are perfect. The gilt finish is very well preserved and bright. There is a very attractive even toning to silver on the reverse.
Comes on an original suspension device, a two-layer model in steel. The old, probably original ribbon is very well preserved and attractive. The connecting link appears to be original; its ends are still joined with solder in the seamless manner characteristic of the Soviet mint.
