Special-issue Government Postcard commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the Tupolev Aircraft Design Bureau, artist identified on verso, 1982.
The size is continental standard 6" x 4", postally unused, published by the Ministry of Communications of the USSR, circulation unknown. The pre-printed special-edition postal stamp features Tupolev's portrait and one of his very first models, ANT-1, launched in 1922. The artwork in the left panel of the obverse shows Tupolev's modern-day airliners: TU-104 below and the 3-engine TU-154 on top. The artist's name, A. Aksamit, is printed along the divider. The verso is unmarked.
In excellent, near-mint condition.
