Postcard with a Navy Sailor playing a Russian accordion on the deck of his warship, artist signed, 1955.
The size is continental standard 6" x 4", postally unused and unmarked, published by IZOGIZ, the State Visual Arts Publishing House, circulation 500,000. The artist's name, A. Kokorekin, is printed in the lower left-hand corner on the verso. His hand-written initials and date are seen in the lower left-hand corner of the image. The artwork is an offset print of Kokorekin's painting. The inscription on the verso reads "Vasily, here I am sending you a Navy sailor. Look at him and learn to be as courageous as he is. 29 August 1955. Stalingrad."
In very good condition, showing only minimal soiling to both sides of the postcard.
