Photo of a Red Army Senior Sergeant Wearing Two Orders of Glory, Order of the Red Star, and the Guards Badge, Dated 10 September 1945.

Measures 3 ¼" x 5", printed on cardboard semi-gloss photo paper. The NCO is sitting on a chair in front of the wooden wall of a barn or, possibly, a rural house. Looking at the date on the verso, it is quite likely that he had just arrived home after being discharged from active duty after the war was over.

The photo is in good condition despite multiple items of wear, starting with two short cuts on the right-hand side and a bit of soiling at the corners. Tilting the photo to reflect a bright light reveals mild foxing to the emulsion but it is practically invisible when looking at it at a normal viewing angle. The image is in sharp focus, providing a nice opportunity to have a close look at the decorations and the uniform. The verso is inscribed with the date at the top left-hand corner. Opposite it on the right is another inscription, unfortunately partly obscured by the layer of gray cardboard that stuck to the photo when it was removed from a photo album. It looks like it could be the name of the soldier.

Please note that the penny in our photo is for size reference.
