Award Document for а Partisan Medal 2nd class, #040292, issued on 27 June 1947 to Bella Iosifovna Tsodikova.

The recipient was definitely of Jewish ethnic background judging by her last and patronymic name. No information about her could be found in the Russian archives at this time although interestingly, there was a woman by the same name, a native of Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine born in 1894. According to the information found on the Russian archival website Pamyat-naroda.ru, she served in the Red Army starting from 1942, took part in the defense of Leningrad, rose to the rank of Medical Corps Captain, lived past the age of 90, and was awarded with a "Jubilee" Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd cl. in 1985. It may be a pure coincidence, but the name of the recipient is highly uncommon; in all likelihood, the Captain Tsodikova, a defender of Leningrad born in Ukraine, was indeed the same woman. It is entirely possible that she had fought in the enemy rear in the early period of the war prior to joining the regular army.

The document is in outstanding, excellent condition. Both the cover and internal pages are immaculately clean and crisp.
