The medallion is massive, of riveted three-piece construction, measures 48.9 mm in height including the eyelet, 45.4 mm in width; weighs 44.0 g not including the suspension. The gold lion in the center is a separate piece superimposed on the center medallion consisting of a gold ear of wheat and disc with red, green and white stripes of enamel representing the national flag of Bulgaria; the latter is in turn superimposed on the enameled red square with gold sunburst and swords.

Excellent condition. The enamels and gilt finish are pristine. Comes on original suspension, a small-size version in aluminum, with perfectly preserved, clean old ribbon.
