Badge for Excellent Shooting for Red Army Enlisted Personnel, early to mid-1920s.

In copper, 43.0 mm tall (measured between the tips of the rifle butts and the upper edge of the band, 41.5 mm wide; weighs 9.4 g without the screw plate. An interesting early Red Army award awarded only briefly during the early to mid-1920s (there was also a 1927 version of this award which showed the year of issue).

In very fine to excellent condition. Shows nice and even mahogany toning to the copper, no pitting, oxidation or significant wear. There is a mild bump to the muzzle of one of the rifles, not very noticeable or detractive; there are also some tiny dings and a couple of minor scuffs to the rifles that are barely noticeable. The screw post is of full length, over 15 mm, and includes period screw plate which fits perfectly and appears to be original to it.

/ Similar to Avers 8, p. 421, fig. 1992.b/.
