Order of Mother-Heroine, Variation 3, #155367, circa mid to late-1960s.

In 14 K gold (star), silver (starburst and suspension) and enamel. The medallion measures 31.5 mm in height incl. eyelet, 27.9 mm in width. The medallion weighs 12.5 g (not including the suspension and connecting link); total weight with suspension is 17.0 g. This piece is Variation 3 featuring raised mint mark and rotating tool-engraved serial number.

In excellent condition, far better than usual for this decoration. The golden star shows only a few minor dings and only mild wear to its apex; the ridges are crisp, and the facets are free of significant scratches or bumps. The enamel on the suspension is essentially perfect: it shows attractive luster and has only a few microscopic contact marks near the left edge none of which are visible to the naked eye. The original gilt on the suspension is fully present and although partly obscured by the silver patina, still clearly visible. The reverse is especially pristine, and there is beautiful untouched patina to silver on both sides. The connecting link appears to be original; its ends are still joined with solder. To summarize, this is an beautifully preserved example of the highest Soviet decoration for motherhood.
