Afghanistan, Medal for Valor, 1980s.
German silver; 37.2 mm wide; weighs 21.7 g not including the suspension and connecting link. Design is reminiscent of the Soviet Valor Medal, with a modern Soviet tank and jets flying overhead. Very fine details to the tank.
In outstanding, excellent condition. The details are perfect. The original brilliant mint luster is beautifully preserved, especially on the obverse. Comes with a scarce original regulation ribbon which shows evidence of age and use but is still very well-preserved.
Established in 1980, this medal was awarded for bravery on the battlefield to both Afghan and Soviet servicemen.
