"Shock Worker" 1939 Award Badge, Stalin's portrait on red enameled "rosette".
Measures 21.7 mm wide. Silver-plated brass and enamel, 2- piece construction.
In very fine condition. The deep red enamel shows surface buffing, has a microscopic surface flake near the edge at approx. 9 o'clock, and has faded somewhat but is free of any chips or other noticeable damage. The silver finish on Stalin's bas-relief shows wear at the raised points but most of the silver-plating is still present and all of details are intact. The attachment wires are nice and tight. The screw post is full length, well over 9.5 mm. Comes with original screw plate marked "T-V IZO, Leningrad" and dated "1939".
Reportedly issued to best workers ("udarniks" or shock workers) and intended to be worn along with a red bow.
