German Map of "Newell" including Witebsk, near Smolensk, in excellent condition.

33" x 20" approx. Has what appears to be Swedish language text, this may have possibly been copied verbatim from a foreign acquired map. Neatly folded with no tears.

Map centers on the scene of heavy anti Partisan fighting by the Third Panzer Army (part of Army Group Center)during operation "Kugelblitz" in which the Germans estimated 3,700 Partisan's killed. Looking at the forest and swamp terrain, its easy to understand how Partisans could be able to infest the region, and how difficult it would have been for German infantry to dislodge them.
