The pre-printed postal stamp and the special-issue commemorative stamp are canceled with the First Day stamp issued by the Moscow International Post Office and dated 7 November 1982, the seventh of November (25 October by Julian calendar) celebrated in the Soviet Union as the anniversary of the Bolshevik uprising of 1917 that they called the Great October Revolution. The space-themed artwork in the left panel of the obverse has "Glory to October!" inscribed under the space-themed graph
