East Germany, Early Model of Air Force Radio Signalman Proficiency Wings, 2nd cl., early 1990s RE-STRIKE.

In nickel-plated aluminum, paint, and enamels. Measures 27 mm in height, 91 mm in width. Two screwback attachments to the reverse. The large oval centerpiece is of the early design manufactured from 1960 to 1963.

In excellent condition, showing just very mild pitting to the nickel plating, mostly on the reverse. The screw posts are full regulation length at 8 mm, and include standard brass screw plates.

In 1990s, the original East German manufacturer PRAWEMA made a restrike of this rare early 2nd cl. classification badge for Air Force Radio Operator / Signalman ("

With the original examples extremely rare and costly, the PRAWEMA copies of these badges are becoming harder to find and are now collectable in their own right.
