In aluminum, paints, and clear resin. The medallion measures 41 mm in height (incl. eyelet), 32 mm in width. The brass band across the suspension shows the year of issue. The raised inscription on the reverse reads "to live in a socialist way requires working in a socialist way." The original box of issue is in cardboard with the lid laminated in leatherette-textured paper.

The laminate on the box shows mild scuffing wear and a separation to one of the corners of the lid.
