In brass, the medallion is 30 mm wide. The inscription encircling the caduceus on the obverse reads "For Faithful Service in Health and Social Welfare." The presentation box has black plastic bottom lined with light foam rubber inside, the lid is in Plexiglas.
The medal is in very good to excellent condition, showing just barely visible light tarnish to the bottom right of the medallion and a faint stain to the suspension ribbon. The lid of the box is mostly clear, a bit of scuffing to the lid is not very obvious and does not obscure the medal inside. The pin attachment is clean a
