The artwork is an offset print of a watercolor by O. Vereiskiy, illustrating a stanza from the famous poem by Alexander Tvardovsky featuring the fictional hero-soldier Vasiliy Terkin. The text is quoted on the verso, describing the glorious feeling of returning to his comrades at dawn after a successful recon mission, leading a captured German and carrying his German submachine gun.
