In silver-plated brass and enamel; measures 41.4 mm in height incl. eyelet x 33.3 mm in width. This is the first version of the award, featuring a serial number stamped on the reverse. The central motif is of a mother, a factory worker father and four children. The enameled plaque at the bottom is in green, designating the 3rd class of the award.
Excellent condition. The details are very nicely preserved and crisp; the silver finish shows only a very minimal wear at the high points of the artwork. The eyelet is slightly bent but remains sound. The bow is of the period, app

Established in 1950, initially in three classes, the Bulgarian Order of Maternal Glory was awarded pretty much along the same lines as its
Soviet counterpart. The third class in particular was bestowed to mothers for giving birth and raising at least four children. Only the
earliest issues of the Type 1 were serial-numbered. The number of classes was later reduced to two and the design of the suspension changed to
the one resembling that of the Soviet Order of Maternal Glory.
