The order is in excellent condition. The enamels and gilt finish are pristine. Comes on original suspension, an early larger Soviet-style version in aluminum, with a nicely preserved, clean old ribbon.

The Award Document is a hard-bound booklet very similar to Soviet order certificates of the period. It has a single entry for the Order for Military Valor and Merit, 1st cl. which shows that it was bestowed on 14 November 1978. The document is in very good condition. The cover is warped as is often the case and shows a bit of wear to the gold lettering but is otherwise nicely preserved and sound. The internal pages are clean and crisp.

The Case of Issue is wrapped in rubberized red fabric and has the name and class of the decoration as well as the national emblem of communist Bulgaria impressed in gold. The box is in excellent condition, practically free of noticeable wear.
