In excellent condition. Very attractive wear to the edges and margins is a visual testament to the painting's authenticity. The colors are vibrant, and the molten steel is simply blindingly bright. The paper is thick and sturdy. The painting has been stored rolled up for a long time. As seen in the photos, it can be unrolled with due patience and care. However, it will be shipped rolled up, in a sturdy cardboard tube.
David Ionin (Давид Маркович Ионин, 1916 - 1987), was a distinguished Soviet painter and master of graphic arts, member of the USSR Artists' Union and Chairman of the Sverdlovsk Regional Organization of the USSR Artists' Union. The industrial theme was his favorite, not surprising for a region dominated by metallurgy and heavy machine-building industry. He was awarded with the Order of the Red Banner of Labor and the Order of the Badge of Honor. His works can be found in the art galleries of Yekaterinburg, Perm, Nizhniy Tagil, and in private collections.
