Special-Issue Government Postal Cover Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of Valeriy Chkalov, Hero of the Soviet Union, Legendary Soviet Pilot, 1984.
The size is 6 ½" x 4 ½", with a pre-printed special-issue postal stamp depicting the ANT-25 airplane in which Chkalov and his two-men crew made the first non-stop flight over the North Pole from Moscow to Vancouver, WA. The inscription reads "80 years since the birthday of Valeriy Chkalov." Postally unused, published by the Ministry of Communications of the USSR, circulation unknown.
