Government Postal Cover Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the 2nd International Polar Year, 1982.

The size is 6 ¼" x 4 ½", with a pre-printed postal stamp. Published by the Ministry of Communications of the USSR, circulation unknown. The lettering under the artwork reads "50th Anniversary of the Second International Polar Year." The celebrated event was a coordinated international project focused on geophysical observations and research in the Arctic and Antarctic regions.

Excellent condition.
