In excellent condition, with mild attractive patina to the silver finish. The ribbon appears to be original, very slightly and age- appropriately faded in color intensity, and free of any significant wear.

The case of issue is in light wood wrapped in red leatherette on the outside. The lid bears the royal crown and is inscribed ОРДЕНЪ ЗА ВОЕННА ЗАСЛУГА V Ст. ("Order for Military Merit V cl."). The fitted space inside is lined with champagne-colored velvet; the inside of the lid is padded and lined with silk of the same color.

The case is in very good to excellent condition. The leatherette shows light wear; the gold of the inscription on the lid has lost some of its original luster but remains intact; the latch is in perfect working order. The hinge is straight and strong, the lid meets the bottom part perfectly when closed.

The Order of Military Merit was established by Prince Ferdinand I on 18 May 1900 to recognize military personnel for exceptional service, bravery, and merit.
