Germany, Saxony, Commemorative Cross for the Franko-Prussian War of 1870-1871.
Brass, gilt, 31.6 mm in height including the eyelet, 27.1 mm in width, weighs 11.1 g. The centerpiece on the obverse features the royal monogram "J" for King Johann, under the royal crown, ringed by a band in blue enamel. The centerpiece on the reverse shows the years of the Franko-Prussian War. The suspension ring shows the maker's mark.
In very fine condition, just minor wear to the gilt on the edges of the 3 o'clock and 6 o'clock arms of the cross, and a small chip to the enamel at 1 o'clock. The wear is not very obvious or detractive.
