Photo Postcard with a portrait of cosmonaut Konstantin Feoktistov, uncommon with First Day Cancel and special postal stamp, 1978.

The size is 3 ½" x 5 ½", unmailable without a cover. Published by the PLAKAT ("Poster") Publishers, Moscow, circulation 470,000. The postcard is part of the series "Soviet Cosmonauts." The photographer's name, Yu. Ustinov, is printed in the upper left-hand corner of the verso. This is an approximation of the correct First Day format, thought up by the Kaluga Regional Post Office. A commercially available postal stamp commemorating Feoktistov's 1964 space flight was pasted to his 1978 photo portrait and canceled with the 1980 First Day stamp commemorating the Cosmonautics Day celebrated

All these inconsistencies make the card a fine curiosity for a collection of First Day postal objects.

In excellent condition, just a few tiny bits of black stamp ink to the left of the First Day cancel, not too obvious or detractive.
