Postal Cover with First Day cancel issued by the Riga Post Office, Latvian SSR, celebrating the 45th anniversary of October Revolution, artist identified on verso, 1962.
The size is standard 6 ¼" x 4 ½", postally unused, published by the Ministry of Communications of the USSR, circulation unknown. The government pre-printed postal stamp with the USSR State Emblem, one of the most frequently used in that period, is canceled with a special-issue First-Day cancel issued by the Riga Post Office, and complements the artwork on the obverse showing a poster-like graphic of a demonstration in honor of an anniversary of the October Revolution. In excellent condition, showing only minimal storage wear to the verso and tiny corner bumps.
