Postal Cover with First Day cancel issued by the Riga Post Office, Latvian SSR, celebrating the 45th anniversary of October Revolution, artist identified on verso, 1962.

The size is standard 6 ¼" x 4 ½", postally unused, published by the Ministry of Communications of the USSR, circulation unknown. The government pre-printed postal stamp with the USSR State Emblem, one of the most frequently used in that period, is canceled with a special-issue First-Day cancel issued by the Riga Post Office, and complements the artwork on the obverse showing a poster-like graphic of a demonstration in honor of an anniversary of the October Revolution. The lettering at the top of the poster reads "Happy Great October!" The pseudonym of the group of artists, Lesegri

In excellent condition, showing only minimal storage wear to the verso and tiny corner bumps.
