Wall Plaque With Bas-Relief of Lenin & Stalin, circa late 1940s - early 1950s.
In solid bronze measuring 9 ½" across and weighing 2 ¼ lbs. The plaque is unmarked but was certainly made by a sculptor of talent and some renown because portraying the visages of Lenin or Stalin required a special license which was not awarded lightly. The level of precision of sculpted detail of the artwork is clearly higher than what is usually seen in similar bas-reliefs. The reverse has a riveted brass plate for mounting the plaque on a wall or some other backing.
In excellent condition. There is just a couple of tiny spots of verdigris, no scuffs or scratches to the high poi

In excellent condition. There is just a couple of tiny spots of verdigris, no scuffs or scratches to the high points of the bas-reliefs. Very mild attractive patina in the recessed areas accents the 3D depth of the artwork and adds to the air of authenticity and age of the item.
