Badge of a Winner of the 1963 Sports Competition of Workers of the VEF Consumer Electronics Factory in Riga, Latvian SSR.
Anodized aluminum and lacquer (pendant), brass and paint (suspension device). The pendant measures 21.1 mm tall incl. eyelet x 17.1 mm wide; overall height with suspension is approx. 29 mm. This interesting piece is made of lesser materials than typical Latvian badges of earlier or even later vintages - reflecting perhaps the economic crisis and forced austerity of the tail end of Khrushchev's reign.
In excellent condition. The paint and lacquer finish are essentially perfect, showing only some tiny traces of wear.
