The blue enamel on the medallion shows a nice luster and has only a tiny amount of surface flaking in its lower portion at the fold of the banner, nearly unnoticeable to the naked eye, while the white enamel is essentially perfect. The raised details of the artwork show no visible wear. The suspension device has a couple of microscopic flakes at the lower edge that are unnoticeable without magnification and some scuffs and rubbing, not too detractive.

Overall, an attractive example despite some flaws. This early version of the motherhood award was probably awarded within a year after the end of WW2 and is very scarce compared with the later issues.
