. In outstanding, excellent condition - absolutely superb for a Russian medal of its era. The medallion is completely free of dings, edge knocks, or scratches noticeable to the naked eye and has only microscopic contact marks, mostly to the eyelet. The obverse shows almost none of the usual wear to the high points; the raised details of the emperor's bas-relief portrait are exceptionally well-preserved and crisp. The reverse is essentially pristine, with perfect details of the crown and inscription. The brilliant mint luster is present throughout the recessed areas on both sides.
The medal comes on an original ribbon of the Order of St. Andrew measuring 2.5 cm in width and approx. 15 cm in overall length (if it were unfolded.), with its ends sewn together as worn by the original owner. The ribbon is in excellent condition, showing age but only a very minimal wear, no stains, fraying, significant soiling, or fading. The jump ring and smaller connecting link are replacements.
To reiterate, this is an overall superb example of the Nicholas II Coronation Medal - one of the best we've handled in many years.
