Large size, slightly over 49" total length, fits up to about a 36" waist when extended to its full length allowed by the premade adjustment holes. The belt loops and shoulder strap are of the same vintage as the belt and of the same 1935 model; although it is not entirely clear if they originally came with this particular belt, they show a corresponding amount of wear.

The belt loops and shoulder strap are of the same vintage as the belt and of the same 1935 model; although it is not entirely clear if they originally came with this particular belt, they show a corresponding amount of wear.

In very good condition. The buckle shows a modest amount of wear and has acquired a nice even patina, free of significant oxidation or blemishes; the details of the star are well-preserved. The brass hardware of the cross strap is perfect. The leather is nice and supple, with light wear only, no tears. The left end of the belt has been slightly reduced in size and resewn by a skilled tailor, probably on commission from the original owner. The stitching is otherwise original and intact and the inner layer is sound.

Production of this type of belt probably ended with the beginning of the Patriotic War in favor of the simplified officer model with open steel frame buckle and two claws. Soviet officers however are often shown in late-war and even post-war photos still wearing the "fancier" M35 belt.
