Clear Glass Butter Dish with Lid, by Urshel Glass Factory, uncommon, 1950s - early 1960s.

Stands approx. 4 ½" tall to the tip of the lid, 2" tall without. 5 ½" across at the lip, 2" wide at the base. The shape and artwork are formed by casting the glass mass into molds. The decorative design is typical for Gus-Khrustalny glass factories, heirs of the Maltsov glassware empire. Specifically, this dish was made by the Urshel Glass Factory in Gus-Khrustalny District. It is not maker marked but is an exact twin of the one we had recently, marked "сУз", the format of the factory's logo used for just a short period of time, starting in the 1950s up until 1962.

The dish is in very good to excellent condition, showing just a few irregularities in the glass mass, acquired during production. Perhaps that is why the bowl was denied the factory logo by Quality Control. However, all these irregularities are hardly noticeable and have zero impact on the bowl's structural integrity.

Please note that the teaspoon in our photos is for size reference.
