Slender Vase in Milk Glass with Lenin's Portrait, gift to a delegate of the 1st congress of livestock breeders, circa 1950s-60s.

Stands approx. 10 ¼" tall, about 4" wide at the lip, 3" across at the foot, with a 4 ½" bell-shaped flare towards the foot. The artwork is a b/w portrait of Lenin, a minimized copy of the original b/w photo. The faint remnant of a dedication inscription is partially legible, enough to read that the vase was a gift to a delegate of the 1st Congress of Livestock Breeders in a city starting with letter "Ж" ("Zh"). Looking into what little history of such congresses is available online, it appears that they were regional events held in various regional centers, and numbered separately

The vase is in very good to excellent condition. The thin silver line accenting the flare at the bottom is mostly worn off, and so is the dedication to the delegate of the congress. A tiny scuff shows on the side opposite the artwork but it becomes visible only when tilting the vase to catch reflected light on this spot All this wear is negligible and not detractive. There are no chips to the lip, the triple gilt band circling the lip shows only mild wear and has retained most of its original golden luster. The artwork is pristine.

Please note that the medal in our photo is for size reference only.
