In very good to excellent condition. The lacquer is mostly intact preserving the colors fresh and vibrant. The boards of the icon are structurally sound. The crossbars appear to be later replacements showing notches on the inside to accommodate the curve of the boards. The beginning of a crack on the left side (looking at the reverse) is safely held in check by the crossbars. Between the glue, the crossbars, and the iron staples to the top and bottom edges, the two boards of the icon are held together safely.
