Little Angler, a 1984 cast-iron statuette by Kasli, from the 1955 model by N Gorelikov.

Stands almost 11" tall to the boy's cap, 13 ½" to the tip of the fishing rod. The round plinth is about 4" wide. As light as the statuette looks, it weighs close to 5 lbs. The original model of this statuette belongs to sculptor N. Gorelikov. He created it in 1955, and in 1957 it won the 1st prize at the exhibition "Applied and Decorative Arts of the RSFSR". In excellent condition. There are a few minuscule scuffs to the Dutch soot coating on the boy's left ankle and on the fishing rod, not very noticeable and not detractive. And that's it as far as post-production wear is concerned. On the inside of the right shirt sleeve, there is a small flaw, probably the result of an air bubble or some impurity that occurred during casting and left a hole in the sleeve. Oh well, apparently even cast-iron boys are good at ruining their clothes.

Kasli was, and remains, one of the finest manufacturers of cast decorative works in Russia and survived from Imperial times through the Soviet Era to today. The Kasli Factory of Architectural and Artistic Casting, as it is now called, is located in the city of Chelyabinsk in the Urals Region of Russian Federation.
