On the suspension loop, there is a matching round Kokoshnik hallmark. This is a classic WWI era piece commissioned by the Kapitul (Chancellery) of Russian Orders and in all likelihood, awarded during WW1.
Condition is excellent throughout, outstanding for an award of this vintage, especially a military one. The enamel is extremely well preserved
throughout, especially on the obverse where it has no wear detectable by the naked eye. The red enamel on the reverse has only a few
minuscule, barely noticeable contact marks. There is no flaking, excessive rubbing, or other significant flaws of any kind. The enamel fully
retains its beautiful original luster. The center medallion is completely free of the usual hairline fractures or chips, and shows only a tiny
amount of rubbing at its apex on the obverse; the colors of the artwork are vibrant. Overall, this is an incredibly well-preserved and
impressive piece!
